IRS Announced Jan. 23 as the 2017 Tax Filing Season Start Day.
The Internal Revenue Service announced that it will begin accepting electronic tax returns on January 23, 2017. Taxpayer claiming certain tax credits should expect a longer wait for refunds. The IRS will also process paper tax returns at the same time.
Taxpayer who are claiming the Earned Income Credit and the Child Tax Credit should expect longer wait time for refunds as per new law requires the IRS to hold those refunds until February 15th.
The deadline to submit the 2016 tax returns is Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
